Mindful Moments

We’ve been a busy team – pulling together all of our individual strengths to cement our foundation and widen the scope of our gardening and nature-focused activities.  The gardens are looking really great with our potatoes at both sites doing well and our onions coming on a treat too.

Our path at Gartnavel has its base set for more herb growth to send aromatic drifts while we work along the beds and over at Bellahouston our polytunnel space has been dug over again and has a salad bed coming on nicely, as well as cauliflower, celeriac, strawberries coming on well and newly seeded spinach and lots more, soaking in the warmth.

We have sheds now, too, which provides a quiet zone in a cool spot, should anyone need it. Here we can plan the additional activities, two of which are arts based bringing some ‘out of the box’ engagements that have the team really excited while the second has been a dream of two of our members for some time – and now there is a prospect of this being realised – one way or another.

We have our open day coming up in June and confirmation of our ‘mindfulness in the garden’ sessions to commence towards the end of next month.  We have a good spot to practice mindfulness, with the sunlight and shade, wildlife and trees around us.  We have a pretty enthusiastic bunch – and rightly so.  Group outing coming soon, too.
